The state of Delaware is exploring the legalization of marijuana in the state.
According to reports, the state task force is charged with studying and recommending how legalized marijuana would be administered in Delaware and met earlier this week to hold discussions on the issue.
The panel was established back in July of this year due to a resolution passed by state lawmakers directly after a bill that would have legalized the recreational use of pot failed to garner enough support in legislature.
Taxation, banking, local authority and control, consumer safety and substance abuse prevention, packaging and labeling requirements, impaired driving and other criminal law concerns are among the issues to be studied and discussed.
That report is to reach the governor and General Assembly by January 31st, and while it is currently unclear of how things could play out it is growing more likely that Delaware could be legalizing marijuana in the near future and Delaware dispensaries could be on their way.
